Rublon’s Email Link is one-use only. So, if you have clicked the link before, opening it again will display the “This link is invalid” message.
But it does not have to be the literal human you who has clicked the link before. It can be a bot, a security feature in your email client, and more.
Some email clients impose their security measures by physically clicking the links inside emails.
Our customers usually get the “This link is invalid” message because of that.
Notably, the Safe Links feature in Microsoft Defender has been known to cause this issue with the Email Link authentication method.
To troubleshoot the “This link is invalid” issue:
1. Temporarily disable Microsoft Defender and select the Email Link method again.
OR
2. Use a different email client. For example, test the Email Link authentication method in Firefox or Chrome using Gmail.
If Email Link worked this time, consider creating an exception for verify@rublonmail.com.
