Does Rublon MFA for Remote Desktop Gateway Override RAP and CAP Policies?

Modified on Thu, 4 Apr at 9:30 AM

Yes, the Rublon MFA for Remote Desktop Gateway connector does override Resource Authorization Policies (RAP) and Remote Desktop Connection Authorization Policies (CAP).

When Rublon MFA for Remote Desktop Gateway is installed, RAP and CAP become unreachable from the Remote Desktop Gateway Manager and thus unavailable. This means that the Remote Desktop Gateway ignores any policy settings configured before the implementation of Rublon MFA.

If you need to continue using Remote Desktop RAPs or CAPs, the recommended solution is to install Rublon MFA for Windows Logon and RDP on your RDS Session Hosts. This way, you will be able to keep using RAPs and CAPs and also utilize more authentication methods.
