Chances are, you noticed a “Does not need Rublon authentication” message in your Rublon for RD Web Access logs and wondered what it means.
The Rublon for RD Web Access connector adds the “Does not need Rublon authentication” message to the log file after it assesses that a given request to RD Web does not need Rublon authentication.
Rublon does not need to perform authentication in the following scenarios:
the user has already been authenticated with Rublon in this session
the user has not completed the first authentication factor (e.g., they entered an incorrect password)
the user downloads an image or performs another action that should not trigger Rublon authentication
The connector checks each request to see if Rublon authentication is needed or not:
If the connector assesses that Rublon authentication is required, it opens the Rublon Prompt or runs promptless authentication (for RD Feed and RD Web Client).
If the connector assesses that Rublon authentication is not required, it prints “Does not need Rublon authentication” to the logs.
Note: If you use the Rublon for RD Web Access connector to enable MFA on your RD Web Feed, Rublon will only perform authentication for RD Web Feed actions that trigger the Windows Security dialog credentials login.
