Which Exchange endpoints are modified by Rublon MFA for OWA?

Modified on Wed, 07 Feb 2024 at 11:10 AM

The Rublon MFA for OWA installer modifies the web.config files of the following web directories:

  • /owa - Enables access to Outlook Web Access (Outlook Web App / Outlook on the web) via the browser

  • /ecp - Enables access for administrators to the Exchange Control Panel via the browser

The Rublon MFA for Outlook Web App (OWA) installer inserts a call to the Rublon IIS module in these two web.config files.

Since no changes are made to the rest of the web directories, the following primary client access web directories remain unaffected by Rublon:

  • /EWS - Enables access to Exchange Web Services (EWS)

  • /Rpc - Enables access to user mailboxes from any remote location using RPC over HTTPS

  • /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync - Enables access from mobile devices (Exchange ActiveSync)
